Today I am posting my last card (for now) using the Whale Done set. This is a brand new set this year and is definitely one of my favorites. For some reason I have always been partial to fish sets.
.
This is a z card fold. I stamp lifted the idea from Krista Thomas over at Regalstamping.com. I did make some changes. You can see the original card here.
Here is my version:
The z fold cards display very nicely. I made this one a birthday card.
Card base: Pretty Peacock 11 x 4 1/4-scored at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2, 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 (layer base)
Whale of a Time DSP: 4 x 2 1/2, 4 x 2 1/2 (inside piece), 5 1/4 x 4 (inside base), 3 x 3 (front)
Sentiment: Stamped in Pretty Peacock and die cut circle from Tasteful Labels
Here are some details:
With Calypso Coral I stamped a few fish on the inside base. Using the Whale Builder Punch I punched the whale from Pretty Peacock cardstock, Smoky Slate for the belly piece and last with a small piece of black to catch the eye. (Save your extra pieces for another time.)
Using Pretty Peacock I stamped the whale back with the speckles. I sponged the edges of the whale with Pretty Peacock and the belly piece with Smoky Slate. Stamping off one time, I stamped the belly piece very lightly with the speckles also. Assemble the whale attaching the belly piece first, and then the fin. Layer the 3 x 3 piece of DSP onto the layer. Then attach the whale using dimensionals. Adhere this piece to the front of your card being careful to put adhesive only on one side of the front.
Lastly, stamp your sentiment onto Whisper White using Pretty Peacock. Cut this out using the circle die from the Tasteful Labels Die set. I put my adhesive onto the corner of the 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 piece so that I wouldn't accidentally get adhesive where I didn't want it to be.
I added a few random pieces of bling and that was that! LOVE how this card turned out. Z fold cards are an all time favorite with everyone. They display very nicely on your desk or tabletop.
